Hearing is everything. If we do not hear the Law of God that we may know our sin we will imagine that we don’t need salvation. If we do not hear good news of our salvation than we will have no hope before the judgment seat of God. If we do not hear that God washes away sin in the waters of Holy Baptism or that He gives us His Body and Blood to eat and drink in the Sacrament of the Altar, we would look in all the wrong places for certainty of God’s love and forgiveness. We are to be all ears when it comes to God. We must listen to everything He says with complete faith. Our ears must be open and our hearts must be humble that we never dare to sit in judgment of what He speaks. His Word is our life and source of every hope and confidence and joy. Come and hear God’s Word that you may have the good things of His kingdom. I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day.
