Festival of the Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Sunday is really a nice way to cap off the festival season of the church year and begin the non-festival season. It is good and right that we take the time to hear about and meditate on the mystery of the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that the Triune God has graciously made Himself known to us. Thus, Holy Trinity Sunday is a day filled with confessing - confessing the beautiful Athanasian Creed which wonderfully lays out the Biblical teaching of the Holy Trinity. I would encourage you to take the time before the Divine Service to read and think about all that is confessed in the Athanasian Creed which we only confess once a year. There is so much rich, comforting truth that we ought to consider more often in our individual devotions. Perhaps include it in your daily devotions all this following week so that you can have more time to appreciate and draw comfort from it. Glory be to the blessed and Holy Trinity who has redeemed us poor sinners that we may have eternal life in His Name! I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day.
