Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord

Alleluia! Christ is risen! This acclamation can and should be on our lips every day, not just once a year. The Crucified One is still risen. We live now in the eternal light of that glorious and life-altering reality. Our sin has been atoned for. Death has been swallowed up. The devil’s head has been crushed. And though it is true that we still suffer because these three still exist, constantly trying to draw us back down to death, the reality is that they are all defeated and there is nothing anyone in heaven or on earth could do to bring Christ down off of His eternal throne. And that is the good news that Christ causes to be proclaimed from pulpits, dinner tables, and hospital beds the world over. That is the foundation of all that we sing. It is the confidence of every prayer. Christ is risen! Let us gather together and lift our voices with the whole Christian Church – the saints on earth and the saints in heaven – as we proclaim the day of triumph of our Lord and feast on the fruits of His salvation. I look forward to celebrating our Lord’s resurrection with all of you this Easter.
